Student Veterans of America (SVA) seeks self-motivated, detail-oriented and highly energetic communications and marketing intern. This is a perfect opportunity for talented students who want to get involved in the communications arena.

 

Duties include monitoring and reporting on daily news clips, writing and research, issue tracking, drafting media releases and other communications materials, maintaining press contact lists, special event support, creating social media content and infographics, e-mail marketing, and website content assistance.

Nonprofit Management / Programs Intern

Duties will consist of performing the functions necessary to complete effective programming on behalf of SVA including: assisting in grant management, supporting the development of new programing, positively impacting the organization's programmatic offerings and overall expenditure for the programs assigned. The ideal candidate will represent the organization as a leader of SVA, including being an ambassador for the organization to build and maintain relationships with other VSOs, student organizations, higher education institutions, government executive agencies, legislative components, and elected officials. The incumbent must demonstrate an ability to work, plan, and communicate effectively with both public and private strategic partners. The incumbent must plan, organize, prioritize, and schedule their own work activities to complete SVA's mission, and will promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

Program Manager, Chapter Support and Programs

SVA is seeking an exceptionally outgoing, dynamic, and fast-learning individual who thrives on direct and personal engagement with people to support our chapters, chapter leaders, and student veterans through SVA’s Chapter Support team. SVA is a fast-paced higher education, veteran-focused nonprofit which also supports service members in their transition to higher education, and military-connected students through our chapters which are open to all, veterans and non-veterans. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations and Chapter Support and forms part of SVA’s growing programmatic and chapter engagement team.

In this position, you will contribute to SVA’s operational strategy in alignment with SVA’s strategic plan to strengthen chapter leader support and training, while simultaneously assisting with the expansion and delivery of SVA’s chapter support and program initiatives. These include Chapter Leadership Summits, the SVA Leadership Institute, our National Conference, individual consultations with chapter leadership teams, and more to come.

Executive Assistant

SVA is seeking to fill a full-time Executive Assistant position with an experienced and detail-orientated individual. Working under the supervision of the Chief of Staff, the Executive Assistant’s primary role is to provide daily operational support to the President and CEO, including managing scheduling and travel arrangements, basic accounting, and administrative operations for the organization.

The right person for this role will also partner with the executive team to handle administrative tasks, freeing up their time to focus on the organizations goals and strategic direction while making them more effective by maximizing every moment of their day. In this role, the right person will exercise quick-thinking, flexibility, and adaptability to constantly changing demands and priorities.

This person will be resourceful and autonomous when taking on new tasks and projects relying on problem-solving skills to ensure the success of the executive team. Over time, the ideal candidate for this position will learn to solve problems before they appear while becoming an integral part of the success of the mission of SVA.
