Justin Hauschild is the Legal Fellow for Student Veterans of America. He works directly under SVA’s Vice President of Government Affairs to research, analyze, and advocate for policy solutions that serve student veterans.
After graduating from high school, Justin enlisted as an infantryman with the Minnesota Army National Guard. He attended college at the University of Minnesota Duluth where he graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Studies, and German Studies. Shortly after graduating, Justin deployed to Afghanistan’s Kunar Province in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After returning from deployment, he attended the University of Minnesota Law school where he earned his J.D. in 2015.
Justin has a background in public interest policy advocacy, having led student-focused campaigns for affordable higher education and campus infrastructure improvement. Prior to joining SVA, Justin served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the State of Minnesota’s Second Judicial District. In his free time, Justin enjoys outdoor activities like surfing, camping, and fishing.
