Mike Duerr is a retired US Army Officer with over a decade of service and is excited to join Student Veterans of America (SVA) as the Vice President of Development. Mike has been deeply involved in the student veteran community for the past four years, developing veteran transition programming and partnerships with affinity groups through his work with the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, managing an internship focused veteran transition program for undergraduate and graduate level student veterans.
Mike works to cultivate a network of supporters and partners with SVA in our shared mission to empower our student veteran led chapters across the country to inspire tomorrow’s leaders to achieve their greatest potential in the classroom, in their professional careers, and beyond.
Mike is also a visiting lecturer for the International Graduate Program on Conflict Resolution and Mediation at Tel Aviv University and the Middle East Training Team for the Bosserman Center for Conflict Resolution at Salisbury University. This training program is certified by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Mike received his B.A. in International Relations from the Virginia Military Institute and using his GI Bill received an M.A. in Conflict Resolution & Mediation from Tel-Aviv University.
