An Air Force veteran and sophomore at Central New Mexico Community College, where he studies American History.
An Army veteran and sophomore at Sauk Valley Community College, where she studies Accounting.
An Air Force veteran and senior at Spokane Community College, where she studies Hospitality Administration/Management.
A Marine Corps veteran and sophomore at San Diego Mesa College, where she studies Accounting.
Student Veterans of America and Rockwell Collins are committed to ensuring that every veteran has access to the highest quality of education necessary to fulfill their dreams. We recognize that many student veterans start their journey at the community college level, and many of those students have either run out of, or are saving, their GI Bill benefits for further studies. In recognizing the ever important start to the outstanding commitment to the student veteran experience, Rockwell Collins and SVA are providing six (6) $2,500 scholarships to student veterans currently attending a community college!
Eligible student veterans must meet the minimum criteria outlined below:
All applicants must select and answer one of the following essays on one document. Upload your completed essay on the application page, preferably as a PDF. Please thoroughly, but succinctly (300-500 words per essay question), answer the following prompt:
1. Tell us about your previous leadership experiences, during your military service and beyond. How have you carried these experiences forward in the classroom or in other university activities?
2. Write a one-page Statement on how this scholarship will help you in reaching your educational goals.
