Kevin Jenkins joined the SVA team in 2019 as a Program Manager in the Programs & Services department, where he manages programming initiatives, including SVA’s Regional Summit. As a college access expert, Kevin uses his knowledge of the higher education landscape to assist Chapter Leaders in running affective SVA Chapters. Before joining SVA, Kevin worked in various aspects of college admissions at St. John’s University in Queens, NY, and Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) in Teaneck, NJ.
As a higher education administrator, Kevin worked with traditional students, adult learners, and student veterans. At FDU, he served on the planning committee to create a student veteran reintegration program that became a national model of success. After relocating to Virginia in 2013, Kevin managed a college access center based in Northern Virginia Community College. There he assisted students with the college admissions process, financial aid access, and loan default prevention. In addition to supporting chapter leaders, Kevin works as an independent college access consultant in the DMV area.
Kevin served in the United States Army as a Multiple Launch Rocket Systems, Fire Direction Specialist. He received his honorable discharge shortly after returning home from his deployment. Upon returning home, Kevin enrolled in William Paterson University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English.Download Bio
