Ryan Rabac is the Vice President of Communications and Marketing for Student Veterans of America. He is responsible for implementing and refining SVA’s communications strategy and leading agency relationships across digital platforms, earned media, paid media, conferences and events, and influencer engagement.

As a civilian student, Rabac was closely involved with his friends and colleagues in SVA’s chapter at Florida State University. He helped to plan the Inaugural Seminole Military Ball on campus, and engaged in advocacy and fundraising for the chapter. Rabac previously worked for SVA as the Digital Communications Manager from 2015-2016.

Before returning to SVA in April 2019, Rabac worked on the client experience team for Weber Shandwick, a global public relations agency. He was responsible for account management and digital strategy for corporate, nonprofit, and government clients including Verizon, Corning, Ericsson, the National Education Association, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), The Nature Conservancy, and HealthCare.gov. He contributed to new business opportunities that were successful for the firm.

Prior to Weber Shandwick, Rabac was the Marketing Director for the American Sustainable Business Council, a nonprofit trade association, where he originated new membership sales through digital platforms and lead scoring automation. He configured and maintained ASBC’s CRM and e-commerce platforms, managed all digital platforms and web properties, and hosted webinars and events for business mobilization and recruitment. He also directed the group’s public policy work on net neutrality and served as a spokesperson for ASBC.

Prior to ASBC, Rabac managed digital platforms and strategy for United Way of the National Capital Area to fundraise and tell the story of United Way’s community impact. During his previous tenure at SVA he helped build the digital brand, manage social media platforms, and traveled to support events and conferences. He also previously worked for the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University and supported the launch of digital platforms and marketing efforts for the school’s Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA).

As an undergraduate, Rabac expanded a scholarship program with his fraternity that served as a model for other groups on campus, including a dedicated student veteran scholarship. The group was awarded the Fraternity of the Year, Certificates of Excellence from the school’s Office of Greek Life, and the Guidon Award from the Collegiate Veterans Association of FSU for leading the way in advocacy for student veterans. Rabac leveraged his leadership positions on campus to advocate and fundraise for student veterans, and helped host social events that fostered friendship and appreciation between civilian students and student veterans.

Rabac was recognized as a Seminole Torchbearer and a Trustee of the Florida State University Student Foundation. He received a Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding performance and lasting contribution from the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF). He previously served as a volunteer board member of the Florida State Society in 2018. He currently volunteers as an advisor for undergraduate fraternity members at American University.

Rabac holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Social Science from Florida State University and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
