Mackenzie Marion joined Student Veterans of America in July 2022, where she is currently serving as a Program Coordinator.
Her professional career began in the Army National Guard of North Carolina, where she served as a Communications Specialist with the 449th Combat Aviation Brigade, accumulating six years of service. During her military career, Mackenzie gained valuable experience while deployed to Iraq, supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.
Mackenzie attended East Carolina University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, with a focus on Event Planning and a minor in Business Management (May 2020). While attending East Carolina, she was employed at The Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement, where she held the role of Leadership Assistant. During this time, Mackenzie collaborated with various non-profits, coordinating volunteer events, and leading the Campus Kitchen Program efforts in the community of Greenville, North Carolina.
In her role as a Program Coordinator, Mackenzie maintains coordinating all events and key programs, planning and facilitating curriculum, and additionally oversees service and volunteer opportunities at SVA. Her multifaceted background, encompassing military service, academic knowledge, and community engagement, ensures a meaningful and impactful experience for all members of Student Veterans of America and its community.
