President & CEO

Cory Boatwright

Cory Boatwright is a U.S. Air Force veteran and the President and CEO of Student Veterans of America (SVA), serving at a pivotal moment for the organization. He is focused on leading with transparency, strengthening programming, and delivering on SVA’s vision and mission to empower student veterans to achieve their greatest potential.

Cory is a two-time student veteran, having returned to school after separating from the Air Force. This lived experience shapes his commitment to ensuring student veterans and military-connected students have the support, resources, and opportunities needed to succeed in higher education and beyond.

Prior to joining SVA, Cory spent more than a decade leading national military and veteran workforce initiatives across the public, nonprofit, and private sectors. His work has centered on building high-impact partnerships, scaling programs, and aligning stakeholders around outcomes that support education, career readiness, and long-term success for the military-connected community.

Before entering the civilian workforce, Cory served as a strategic communications manager and broadcast journalist in the U.S. Air Force, supporting global combat and humanitarian missions in Haiti, Japan, and Afghanistan.

In his current role, Cory is focused on advancing SVA’s core mission through high-quality programming, chapter empowerment, and partnership-driven impact, ensuring SVA remains a trusted, mission-driven organization that supports student veterans across every stage of their educational journey.
