RTX SPY-6 Scholarship

RTX and SVA award two $10,000 scholarships annually to U.S. Navy student veterans.

Empowering U.S. Navy Student Veterans with a Scholarship

The RTX SPY-6 Scholarship, named for the U.S. Navy’s SPY-6 Family of Radars, provides returning sailors an opportunity to achieve educational goals and position themselves for success in civilian professions. Two $10,000 scholarships will be awarded to sailors who pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited university and demonstrate leadership in their local community.

Eligibility

Student veterans must meet the following criteria to apply for the RTX SPY-6 Scholarship:

  • Be a Navy/Navy Reserve Veteran
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a chosen career field in engineering, operations, logistics, manufacturing, or other related fields (e.g. textile manufacturing, industrial engineering, quality assurance, etc.)
  • Be a full-time, currently enrolled student at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. as demonstrated by a current transcript (unofficial or official)
  • Be entering into the Fall 2026 semester as a full-time enrolled student (including undergraduate and graduate programs) at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S.) as demonstrated by a current transcript (unofficial or official)
  • Demonstrate leadership and engagement in their community
  • Be a current student veteran (includes members of the National Guard or Reserve), as demonstrated by a DD214 and current transcript (unofficial or official)
  • Have received an honorable discharge; must be a veteran in good standing as shown by a DD214
At the time scholarship funds are issued, recipients must provide proof of enrollment or an official acceptance letter for Fall 2026. Applicants who are not enrolled in Fall 2026 courses will be deemed ineligible.

How to Apply

Student must submit a complete application, including:

  • Long form DD214 (Member 2 or 4) with Social Security Number redacted
  • Transcripts (official or unofficial)
    • Showing current full-time enrollment in Spring or Summer 2026 and full-time enrollment status for Fall 2026 at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S.
  • A 1-2 Minute video that captures the following questions – video submission instructions. If you choose not to submit a video, you will be asked to provide written responses to these questions within the application:
    • Tell us about your background, why you joined the service. 
    • What are you studying and why? What are your career goals? Demonstrate your commitment and passion for your chosen field of study.
    • How have you demonstrated leadership and engagement in your community?
    • What would receiving this scholarship mean to you?

 Application Deadline – May 1, 2026. All applications must be submitted through the MySVA portal.
Decisions will be shared by August 1, 2026
