Every year our annual NatCon brings together student veterans from across the country, inspiring speakers, leading employers, higher education professionals, nonprofits, government agencies, and more!
The Student Veterans of America® National Conference (“NatCon” as we like to call it) is the largest gathering of student veterans anywhere in the world. With SVA chapters at nearly 1,600 campuses across the U.S. and in several countries abroad, NatCon serves as a focal point in the academic year to share ideas, best practices, and network with veteran and military-affiliated students, their families, supporters, and allies, as well as corporate, government, and nonprofit partners, and more!

Be a subject matter expert and possibly present your topic to our chapter leaders, student veterans, and many more! Breakout session proposals are due by September 30, 2024.
Each year at the National Conference, Student Veterans of America recognizes the extraordinary student veterans, advisors, chapters, and partners who represent the very best of the student veteran extended community, as well as the epitome of service, scholarship, and accomplishment. The SVA Honors Awards exemplify the significant contribution and impact these individuals and organizations have made in the year prior, while celebrating the next chapter of leadership to come.
Congratulations to our 2023 Student Veteran of the Year, Angelina Trillo of Oregon State University; 2023 SVA Chapter of the Year, Marshall University Student Veterans Association; and 2023 SVA Chapter Advisor of the Year, Denny Cosmo of Bristol Community College.

We understand the importance of your attendance and the value it holds for both personal and professional growth. To streamline your preparations and ensure a smooth journey, we have curated three essential documents to assist you in the process.
Chapter leaders are welcome to use this request for attendance letter in their proposals to their schools or community support organizations in their request for funding. This document contains the benefits of attending NatCon for chapter leaders, members, and supporters, and has a portion where chapters can fill in their requested fund amount.
This PowerPoint is used for chapter leaders to present in a professional way their desire for funding to attend NatCon. It can be used to leverage membership in organizations such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) or American Legion. With it, chapter leaders can share what they can gain from their time at NatCon as representatives for the partner organization.
This Excel file will take you through a four step process to estimate how much the chapter will need financially to send attendees to NatCon. Chapters can use this to calculate costs for travel, meals, and registration - then include items in chapter budget for fundraising. This document is an estimator, and each chapter may need more or fewer funds to be comfortable at NatCon.

“If you are on the fence about applying for an SVA program, I highly recommend looking into it. You only get out of it what you put into it. I recommend going full force. There’s wonderful individuals and it’s a life changing experience.”

“SVA believes in student veterans in a way that not a lot of other organizations do and if you can’t believe in yourself believe in them because they believe in what you are going to do.”
