Michelle is a human resources consultant who provides benefit administration and payroll services for Student Veterans of America (SVA). Michelle has 18 years of human resources and payroll management experience and is a Senior HR & Payroll Generalist at Marcum LLP. Michelle joined Raffa – Marcum’s Non-Profit and Social Sector Group in 2007 and is dedicated to serving the not-for-profit industry.

Some of the services she provides include payroll management; benefits administration; tracking and reconciling paid leave accruals, use and balances, and serves as liaison between employees and insurance carriers. She also serves as first line of contact with clients and manages the day-to-day HR operations as outlined in the individual client engagements. Michelle is proficient with a number of payroll software systems, including ADP Workforce Now, ADP RUN, Paylocity and Paychex.

Prior to joining Raffa, Michelle worked at National Geographic as a Human Resources Administrator. In that role, she was responsible assisting with benefits administration, personnel records administration, and payroll processing. Before that, she was employed by Davey Tree as a Human Resources Coordinator and Payroll Specialist, performing all payroll functions and administration and the executive benefit reimbursement program. Michelle holds a B.A. degree in English from Kent State University.
