VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT

Mike Duerr, MA

M.A., Tel-Aviv University

B.A., Virginia Military Institute

As the Vice President of Development of Student Veterans of America (SVA), Mike Duerr works to cultivate a network of supporters and partners. Mike is focused on empowering student veteran-led chapters across the country to achieve incredible success in the classroom, in their professional careers, and beyond. Since April 2020, Mike has worked to harness the support, resources and opportunities of our network of partners in supporting our student veteran chapters across all 50 States and four countries representing more than 750,000 student veterans.

Mike is a retired U.S. Army Officer, with over a decade of service and has been deeply involved in the student veteran community for over the past four years, developing veteran transition programming and partnerships with affinity groups through his former work with the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, managing an internship focused veteran transition program for undergraduate and graduate level student veterans.

Mike is also a visiting lecturer for the International Graduate Program on Conflict Resolution and Mediation at Tel Aviv University and the Middle East Training Team for the Bosserman Center for Conflict Resolution at Salisbury University. This training program is certified by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Mike received his B.A. in International Relations from the Virginia Military Institute and using his GI Bill received an M.A. in Conflict Resolution & Mediation from Tel-Aviv University.
