Student Veterans of America 2023 NatCon Sponsor and Partner Recognition
WASHINGTON D.C. (January 23, 2023) – Student Veterans of America (SVA) hosted its 15th Annual National Convention, better known as NatCon, from January 5-7, 2023, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. SVA’s Annual National Conference is the largest gathering of student veterans anywhere in the world. NatCon serves as a focal point in the academic year to share ideas, best practices, and network with student veterans, military-connected students, and supporters, as well as corporate, government, and nonprofit partners.
Attendees had the privilege of hearing from some diverse speakers who are pioneers and changemakers in their professional fields, such as Asia Brown and Master Sgt. (Retired) Cedric King. Our keynote speakers offered engaging presentations that were both informative and entertaining.
Centered on the theme “On the Shoulders of Giants,” SVA welcomed special guests who have been pivotal in passing veteran-specific legislation and protecting veteran benefits, such as Senator Chuck Hagel and the Honorable Denis McDonough. Sen. Hagel received the Senator Bob Dole Continued Service Award on-site for his efforts.
Moreover, SVA’s NatCon is a great place to meet prospective employers, make professional connections, and learn more about prospective career fields. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with approximately 140 exhibitors from the corporate, government, and nonprofit partners on the SVA Campus. Additionally, our more than 2,000 attendees had the privilege of hearing from approximately 200 breakout speakers and panelists during the three-day conference.
Our National Conference is a unique experience for student veterans, both current and prospective. Nearly two-thirds of our student veterans in attendance were attending their first NatCon, and their feedback has been laudatory of our breakout sessions, general sessions, and networking opportunities.
Outside of professional development and networking, attendees participated in morning workout sessions. During Morning Yoga with the Veterans Yoga Project and the Remembrance Run with wear blue: run to remember, NatCon attendees came together to celebrate health and wellness while honoring their fallen loved ones.
The 2nd Annual National Student Veteran Ball concluded the conference, bringing attendees together for a military-influenced and well-deserved party co-hosted by Walt Disney Company and Disney World Resorts.
SVA’s 16th Annual National Conference will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, from January 4-6, 2024. All student veterans and military-connected students are welcome.
Student Veterans of America would like to thank all of our sponsors and partners who made our 15th Annual NatCon possible.
