Student Veterans of America Names Steve Amsden Vice President of Employer Pathways
WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 17, 2026) — Student Veterans of America® (SVA) has named Steve Amsden Vice President of Employer Pathways. Amsden brings deep expertise in workforce strategy, talent acquisition, and employer engagement, along with a long track record of building partnerships that connect student veterans and military-affiliated talent to meaningful career opportunities.
In his role, Amsden will partner with leading employers, universities, and workforce organizations to expand scalable career pathways for student veterans and military-affiliated students across higher education. His work will focus on aligning employer needs with veteran talent, strengthening relationships across industry, and growing opportunities that support long-term career success.

Amsden is a seasoned executive, entrepreneur, and veteran advocate known for building strong executive relationships and aligning talent strategy with business needs. He began his career as one of the earliest employees at Monster and later advanced to General Manager at TMP Worldwide, leading the company’s largest division. Under his leadership, the division generated more than $60 million annually while overseeing regional operations nationwide. He later joined Dow Jones Ventures, where he helped launch a finance-focused careers platform that was ultimately acquired by Dice.
Driven by a commitment to the veteran community, Amsden co-founded HirePurpose and Task & Purpose, organizations focused on helping transitioning service members connect to meaningful careers, community, and purpose. Under his leadership, HirePurpose became the first Certified B Corporation in the military employment space, while Task & Purpose grew into one of the most influential veteran-focused media platforms in the country.
